How Do I...
Order Repeat Prescriptions?

Please, please, please give us at least two working days to re-order your repeat prescription.

This gives us the time to review your medication effectively and the flexibility to fit this in around running surgeries, doing home visits, accepting telephone calls and other practice work. Studies have shown that 48 hours is “the Gold Standard” and turnaround times faster than that are associated with more medication mistakes and prescribing errors.

We would much prefer if you do not order your medication through your pharmacy as they will not be aware of any recently added or changed medication; it is always safer to order from us directly, using the right-hand side of your prescription slip and this can be delivered to us by hand or post and we will happily then pass on the prescription we generate to any local pharmacist you nominate or return it if you enclose an SAE.

Please order all your repeat medication at the same time: Sometimes it will take a 'one off' effort to bring all your medication in line and your doctors, nurses or pharmacist can help with this, but once they are in line you only need order and collect your prescription once and not as each separate item runs out.

WE WILL NOT do repeat prescriptions over the telephone unless you are listed as housebound.

Patients on long-term treatment are asked to consult the doctor at six to 12 month intervals for a check on their medication and health

You can order your repeat prescriptions online. This is a much easier and quicker way of ordering them. For more details either call the practice or ask at the reception.
